I have a site. Can I add LifterLMS to current site? Can I use any theme?

    1. Chris Badgett says:

      Hi Lorraine,

Yes LifterLMS is a plugin so you can add it to any WordPress based site. You can download the free core LifterLMS plugin here: https://lifterlms.com/free/. Yes LifterLMS works with any well coded WordPress theme.

    Hi Chris~
I saw your intro on Business Success Cafe and purchased after Googling that LifterLMS worked with my Avada theme. Your “book a 15 min pre-sale call” didn’t have an open slot until next week. I’m breathing in and out and feeling good, but I do have a few questions. I’ll catch up next week … Meanwhile, I’ll try to go through a few of these demo modules.

    1. Chris Badgett says:

Welcome Kathryn! I look forward to connecting with you next week.

In the meantime, Feel free to come say hello in the LifterLMS facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lifterlmsvip/

    Hi Chris,

I have developed my courses and have bought my own domain. How do I link the content to the domain?

    1. Chris Badgett says:

Hi Vince, it sounds like the next step is to get your web hosting, install WordPress, install LifterLMS, and start setting up your course on your website. Check out this free video series on starting from scratch: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLx4tNLSmgY6vprsEIYsIkEPM3btEJNu8c

Hey Chris, i create courses for companies to teach customer service classes.

Is there a way the the manager of my clients company could manage their own students and track their progress using my courses?

    1. Chris Badgett says:

Hello! LifterLMS currently does not have a middle manager user role like you describe. We are keeping an eye on demand for this for the future.

    Hi Chris!
I just found out about LifterLMS today and I’m so bummed I had not seen this before. Can LifterLMS accommodate Adobe Captivate-made HTML5 courses? Or something made from Adapt or Zenler studios? Thanks a bunch from here in the Philippines!

    1. Chris Badgett says:

Nice to meet you Kareniana! Yes LifterLMS can accomodate Captivate made courses with the LifterLMS xAPI add-on.

Hi! I’m looking for a LMS to create my online course but my website and my audience are French. Is every button/text translatable? Or is English the only possibility for certain options?
Otherwise that seems a good fit for what I’m looking for!
    Thanks in advance

    1. Chris Badgett says:

      Hi Jenna,

Yes everything is translatable and there are language packs available. Here’s more info: https://lifterlms.com/?s=translation&post_type=pp-doc

    1. Chris Badgett says:

      Hi there,

LifterLMS automatically sets up the registration and login on the install on the My Courses page when you use the Quick Set Up Wizard.

    Hi 🙂

I am trying out your lifter lms, how would i remove this comment section under my lesseons and courses, i can only find to remove comment on the course overview, but i dont want these comment boxes under my lessons?

    1. Chris Badgett says:

You can disable that globally in WordPress by disabling discussions. You can also turn it off on individual lessons or courses by disabling comments on the individual post. If you need further help on that, Please post that question in the community support forums here. Or if you are a LifterLMS customer, please log into your account here and submit a support ticket so the development team can get you sorted.

If is not a fee video tutorial,

Why continue to use other video address ,so safe?

If you need to upload videos to other video space?

thank you so much for reply.

    1. LifterLMS says:

I’m not sure I understand your question.

If you are using external video hosting like Vimeo Pro, you can set a privacy setting so that it’s only amble to be embedded or played on your site.

Just going through this course now, and recently have gone through a udemy course, if you want to make the users click the button that says they’ve completed the lesson after having watched the video, when they click the button I think maybe they should automatically go to the next lesson or there should be a setting that allows for that in their preferences. If there is a preferences setting I haven’t been exposed to it yet.

    1. LifterLMS says:

Yes we do have an option to automatically advance to the next lesson if the “Mark Complete” button is clicked

I am currently evaluating different options to choose a LMS. I am in the process of creating an e-learning company to sell my courses, which will be self-paced. Every LMS for WordPress that I’ve evaluated have a very simple, too flat interface. I’m looking for something that could be visually richer, with the possibility of, for example, to put a frame, change the buttons (to an image, for example), customize the progress bar, change the list of lessons and units for a drop-down menu, and so on.

It is possible to do something like this with your plugin? Do you have an example of a course with a visually rich look and feel?

    1. LifterLMS says:

It looks like you found us at the perfect time. My first question would be if you need to customize as a developer or as a WordPress user. I would answer differently depending on what you mean by customize.

But in terms of customization, we’re about to release a customization tool for LifterLMS called Launchpad (it’s a theme and a theme framework, kind of like Genesis) that gives an incredible amount of control over the design of a WordPress LMS powered by LifterLMS.

For a visually rich look and feel, currently a lot of that depends on the theme you’ve selected to go with the LifterLMS plugin.

Our new themes will be rolling out shortly.

Hi, can I change the layout and display a picture of instructor instead of progress bar.

Progress bar can display at bottom.

    1. LifterLMS says:

If you’re talking about the sidebar, LifterLMS comes with a progress and sylabus widget. You could add the picture of the instructor in a widget also and reorder the widgets however you like.

If you are talking about the main content area, you can put whatever you like in the description, including course description, instructor image, instructor title, instructor bio, etc.

Please let us know if you have further q’s.

  13. mail says:

Hi there! This is my test comment. Where would this student comment show up in my (teacher) admin (or email)?

    1. LifterLMS says:

Comments in lessons are handled here using the WordPress comments system. If you were the admin (teacher) you would get an email notifying you of the new comment.

There are countless ways of extending the comment functionality to meet your use case. Some people are using bbpress forums, facebook comments, etc.

      1. vernc says:

Would we be able to use disqus with it as well?

        1. LifterLMS says:

The Lesson discussion area uses the WordPress commenting system by default, so if you are able to replace that with the disqus system, it should work for you, though we haven’t tested this ourselves yet.
